Today, the contribution of tourism, which is called chimneyless industry, to the country's economy has a great place. In developing economies, the service sector shows a continuous growth trend. It is seen that such a growth in our country is most evident in the tourism sector. The growth in the tourism sector increases the need for people with higher education in tourism management. Forward-looking projections show that this need will increase even more.

The aim of the department is to train qualified personnel who can constantly follow the innovations that speak foreign languages, which the sector needs.
If we consider the share our country receives from tourism revenues, our region has a very low income share. The main purpose of the program is to create new tourism opportunities in Edirne, which is a historical city, and Thrace region, to ensure that qualified tourists come to the region and to meet the need for qualified personnel for the businesses to be established for this purpose.
