HMS Hotel Software Training for Tourism Management Students
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a training session on the HMS Hotel Management System was held for 2nd-year students of the Tourism Management Department at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Trakya University. Organized as part of the “Front Office and Housekeeping Automation” course, the training was attended by students under the supervision of the course instructor, Dr. Bahadır Sezer. The session provided valuable insights into the operational structure of hotel management systems.
The training was delivered by experienced industry professional Adil Gürbüz. Gürbüz emphasized that HMS (Hotel Management System) is a widely used software in the hospitality industry, covering many critical areas such as front office operations, reservations, guest relations, housekeeping, accounting, and reporting.
Students were introduced to the software interface through hands-on demonstrations, and examples were provided on how daily operations in a hotel are managed via HMS. Key topics covered during the training included:

Reservation Management: Entering guest information, creating and tracking reservations.

Check-in / Check-out Procedures: Digitally managing the guest arrival and departure processes.

Room Management: Room status, cleaning control, and housekeeping integration.

Reporting: Generating occupancy rates, revenue analyses, and performance reports.

Guest Profile Tracking: Loyalty management and maintaining customer relationships.
At the end of the training, students had the opportunity to become familiar with a hotel software system, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience. They expressed that this training would significantly benefit them during their internships and future careers.
